Recently, the prices of some wines have overshadowed the wines themselves. There are many reasons for these increasing prices including an iconic label, a famous owner, or simply because of rare and highly valuable vintage. All of these characteristics make these wines some of the most lavish and expensive liquid purchases in the world. Many of these wines are also produced in France, proving just how strong Burgundy wines are. On a list of 50 of the world’s most expensive wines, over half are produced in Burgundy, France, where the wines are considered to be the best money can buy.
The best wine that money can buy is Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Romanee-Conti Grand Cru, which is produced in Burgundy, France. Experts describe this wine as a perfect Burgundy and “velvet and satin in bottles.” The Pinot Noir is made by Burgundy’s most known and most collectible wine producer, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. This lavish wine, in addition to the producer’s other lavish wines, are made from eight different vineyards that span the length of the Côte d'Or. Romanee-Conti is the most famous of these vineyards, as it’s where this expensive and most sought after wine comes from. And for $14,992 a bottle, we certainly hope it is the most sought after wine.
