5 Cannabis Movies You’ve Never Heard Of

Every week a new movie is released, which makes it hard for fans to keep up. Movies are also especially expensive now, so not many people see the films in theater. Instead, they choose to wait to watch the movie at home where snacks and tickets don’t cost a fortune. Movie fans are consequently missing movies to the point where they’ve never heard of some. This is particularly true for a number of cannabis movies, which most people have never heard of.

“Marihuana” is a cannabis film you’ve never heard of partly because it was released in 1936 as one of the many anti-marijuana films attempting to reveal the “dangers” of the drug. The film portrays the negative effects of marijuana when the main character Burma becomes pregnant after smoking just once. “Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical” is another cannabis movie you’ve never heard of simply because “Reefer Madness” is a famous anti-marijuana propaganda film. This movie musical pokes fun at the original film in an outrageous tongue-in-cheek comedy adaptation starring Kristen Bell and Alan Cumming. Like the original film, this parody portrays a life of promise turning into a life of debauchery and murder thanks to the new drug menace marijuana.

Every parent talks to their kids differently when it comes to the conversation around cannabis. While some parents will explicitly tell their kids to wait until they're old enough to consume (if ever, at all), others leave the conversation open, assuming their children will learn about weed elsewhere. But the bottom line is that, especially in a legal atmosphere, no matter what the approach, your kids are bound to learn about cannabis one way or another.
