At least one new movie is released every week hoping to achieve box office success. This year has been a particularly successful year for films including “Lady Bird”, “Get Out”, “The Big Sick”, and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”. As 2017 comes to a close, there are still some of the best movies that have yet to release.
“The Post” is one of the best movies still to come out in 2017, and quite possibly one of the most anticipated movies of the year. This film is the first collaboration between Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, who play The Washington Post's Katharine Graham, the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee. Graham and Bradlee race to catch up with The New York Times to expose the Pentagon Papers and the massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. “Downsizing” is another great film of 2017 that has yet to release. Kristen Wiig and Matt Damon star in this world where scientists discover a way to shrink humans to five inches tall to help solve overpopulation by shrinking humans and sending them to a downsized community. With all these great films still waiting to release, 2018 will have a tough act to follow.
